Mayor's Message

The 2008 Mayor’s Charity Ball is going to be one for the record books. In addition to it being the 15th Anniversary of this great community-wide fundraiser, the 2008 Mayor’s Charity Ball will be one of the first major events in the city’s new Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center. Bringing together hundreds of Anchorage residents in the name of helping others is a perfect way to recognize and honor the first peoples of this area, the Dena’ina.

This year’s MCB recipients will join the ranks of more than 50 fortunate non-profits who have benefitted from the generosity of our community. What an accomplishment to be able to say close to $1.5 million has been raised since the event started in 1994. I’m looking forward to another outstanding year.
